DESCRIPTION
EXTENSIBLE STEEL TO PLACE CONCRETE CROSS
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
It is the object of the present invention, as the title of the invention establishes, an extensible implement for placing concrete sleepers used in the construction of train tracks.
The present invention characterizes the special configuration and design of the implement that are such that they allow the simultaneous arrangement and at the same time of multiple sleepers of the train with a distance between the sleepers equal to that of the final assembly thanks to the fact of having on their sides a series of movable grip units.
Also characterized by the present invention, the fact that the implement is also adjustable in width, which allows simultaneous grip and release of the sleepers at their ends.
The implement object of the invention is mounted at the end of the boom of an excavator, being possible to be operated and controlled from the excavator.
Therefore, the present invention is limited within the scope of the construction of train tracks and particularly among the means employed in the correct placement of sleepers of the train tracks.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In railroad tracks, sleepers or sleepers (Latin America) are the transverse elements to the axis of the track that serve to hold together at a fixed distance (gauge or track) to the two rails (rails) that make up the track, as well as keeping them attached to the ballast, transmitting the weight of the rolling stock to the ballast and, through it, to the ground. They also fulfill the function of giving weight to the whole, so that the initial geometry of the path is maintained as much as possible. They are made of various materials, including wood, iron and concrete.

As a general rule the sleepers are placed at a distance of 60 cm between them; this can vary between the different road devices that each have distances between specific sleepers. The 60 cm can also vary to avoid that a rail weld can fall on a crossbar with the consequent deterioration of it. This distance is not random, but is based on concrete studies: if they are further away, the sleepers would rise at the train's pace and if they are closer, the cost per kilometer of the work will be increased significantly.
So far the arrangement of the sleepers on the ballast is carried out individually, with the consequent cost of time and labor due to the need to perform each operation individually and also have to place each sleeper at a fixed distance from of the next one.
Therefore, it is the object of the present invention to develop a tool or implement that allows the simultaneous arrangement of multiple sleepers so that they are separated from each other a fixed distance, developing an implement like the one described below and is collected in its essentiality in the first revindication.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention is an implement to place concrete sleepers simultaneously on a bed of ballast or the like, the sleepers arranged on the bed being at a precise distance from each other.
The sleepers do not require a particular arrangement with respect to each other prior to their assembly, these must be arranged close to the road under construction in parallel and glued, the implement being responsible for holding the sleepers simultaneously and arranging them in parallel separately a distance equal to the mounting distance and all this previously at your disposal on the ballast bed.
In order to achieve the stated purposes, the implement object of the invention has means that allow the regulation in width, as well as means that allow the separation or extension of the grip units making the sleepers separate from each other. , also has some means that allow the implement to rotate on itself.

The implement object of the invention comprises:
- a structural support frame in the form of "H", which comprises two transverse sections that have a side beam welded at its free end.
- An element or central beam whose interior runs the transverse sections of the frame in the form of "H"
- A series of grip units mounted on the first and second lateral beam, where said grip units can move along the lateral beams, are joined together by means of articulated arms that allow the approach and distance to a maximum distance of the grip units.
- First drive means for moving the grip units along the side beams.
- A second drive means for the regulation of the width of the implement and therefore distance or approach of the lateral beams.
- A means of rotation of the implement assembly with respect to a vertical axis.
As mentioned above, the implement does not require that the sleepers prior to their placement on the bed of ballast have a particular disposition or separation, it is sufficient that they are parallel glued next to each other next to the mounting area. The implement will proceed to position itself on the sleepers, widening their separation so that the grip units and particularly the "L" shaped support legs are sufficiently separated so that they are arranged on the ends of the sleepers, upon reduction of width, the horizontal sections of the "L" shaped legs are positioned under the ends of the beams.
Next, we proceed to the elevation of the implement and later turn until we move and position the set of sleepers on the assembly area. At the same time that this process occurs, the separation of the grip units by actuation of hydraulic means or the like takes place. To achieve the separation of the grip units, they are joined together by means of an articulated arm in their middle.
Once the implement has separated the sleepers the necessary distance of assembly, it proceeds to its positioning on the bed of assembly and then proceeds to the widening of the implement, which causes the separation and removal of the grip units, leaving the implement free of its subjection to the sleepers, being free to be able to capture a new set of sleepers.

The implement is mounted on the end of the boom of a crane and allows to simultaneously capture a multiplicity of sleepers, proceed to raise them and actuate lateral extension means that allow the sleepers to be separated from each other with respect to the adjacent ones a precise mounting distance , to subsequently position the implement with the sleepers on the ballast bed where they are to be mounted and finally release the support and fixing means of the ends of the sleepers.
The implement does not have to be limited to a particular number of sleepers, it can be any number, since in tunnels or bridges where the road margins are narrower and the sleepers cannot be placed horizontally, the implement may have smaller dimensions and serve to place for example 4 sleepers simultaneously.
Unless otherwise indicated, all the technical and scientific elements used herein have the meaning that the normal expert in the art to which this invention belongs belongs to. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION.
In view of the figures, a preferred embodiment of the proposed invention is described below.
In Figure 1 we can see the implement object of the invention comprising:
- A structural support frame in the form of "H", which comprises two transverse sections (1) which at its free end has a side beam (2), (3).
- An element or central beam (14) whose interior runs the transverse sections of the frame in the form of "H"
- A series of grip units (4) mounted on the first and second lateral beam (2) and (3), where said grip units can move along the side beams, are joined together by means of articulated arms (10) (figure 2) that allow the approach and distance to a maximum distance of the grip units (4)
- First drive means for moving the grip units along the side beams.
- A second drive means for the regulation of the width of the implement and therefore distance or approach of the lateral beams.
Each of the grip units (4) has "L" shaped legs with the horizontal section oriented towards the inside of the implement.
The grip units (4) are displaced along the side bars (2) and (3) by means of a first hydraulic cylinder (6) and a second hydraulic cylinder (7). When said cylinders (6) and (7) are actuated, the grip units run along the side bars (2) and (3) approaching or moving away from each other, counting for this purpose articulated arms (10) in its half, as can be seen in figure 2.
Said articulated arms (10) have a first arm (10.1) and a second arm (10.2), which are joined at their free end by means of an articulation.
In Figure 3, it should be noted that the second drive means for the regulation of the width of the implement are observed, which in the embodiment shown consist of a third hydraulic cylinder (8) and a fourth hydraulic cylinder (9).
To achieve the rotation of the implement, a gearwheel (13) is arranged on the union head with the end of the boom of an excavator, which is driven by a turning motor (11) which has a pinion at the end of its axis. (12) geared with the cogwheel.
5
The actuation means for modifying the width of the implement and for achieving the extension of the grip units, although they have been described in a possible embodiment as hydraulic cylinders, could be any other means, for example pneumatic cylinders.
10
Describing sufficiently the nature of the present invention, as well as the way of putting it into practice, it is stated that, within its essentiality, it may be put into practice in other embodiments that differ in detail from that indicated by way of example. , and which will also achieve the protection sought, provided that it does not alter, change or modify its fundamental principle.
